Financial literacy is such an important thing. The problem is, it’s not a very high priority for some. Much of that has to do with the fact that personal finance is not properly taught in school. This, while the burden of our financial future is increasingly falling on all of us. Awareness and preparation needs to change.

I was inspired to tackle this issue after a meaningful engagement with high school students earlier in the year. We the people need to be more financially fit. I decided to write about it. I submitted it to Newsweek. They published it.

My article went live last week. The timing is great, considering I just found out that April is actually Financial Literacy month. That said, the time to get smart about money is always NOW.

I hope you enjoy the piece. It was a fun and rewarding exercise to complete. Feel free to circulate far and wide to your friends and family who might find it valuable.

As always, thank you for reading.
